Saxe-Gotha (German Sachsen-Gotha) is a historical state in today's Thuringia, Germany. It was part of the Duchy of Saxe-Coburg-Gotha until 1919, then turned into a republic, and became a part of the newly founded Republic of Thuringia in 1920.
