School of the Prophets - Definition and Overview

In Mormonism, the school of the Prophets (also called the "school of the elders" or "school for the Prophets") was a select group of early Mormons who met during the winter of 1832-33 for both theological and secular learning. A series of seven lectures presented at the school were published as Lectures on Faith.

The name has been used by others in the Latter Day Saint movement.
