Schwellbrunn is a municipality in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden in Switzerland. It has a population of 1,500 (2002). The area of Schwellbrunn is 17 km².
Schwellbrunn is the highest elevated village in the canton at 972 metres. The village overviews mountains and the Lake Constance (Bodensee). Agriculture and tourism are the main sources of income.
