The Schynige Platte-Bahn (SPB) is a cog railway in Bernese Oberland, Switzerland, with a track width of 800mm. Points along its 7 km length offer views of Wilderswil bei Interlaken on the Schynige Platte, as well as Lake Brienz, Thunersee, as well as Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau.
The concession for this course was given in 1890, the line opened in 1893, and was electrified in 1914. Passage of the line is often impossible in winter, and so it only operates in summer months.
