The scientific community is a term used to describe the interactions and relationships of scientists. It may be further split into "sub-comunities" each working on their own particular area.
Within scientific philosophy, it is the scientific community that recognises paradigm shifts.
A usually a loosely knit community of scientists and researchers working on the same subject. (For example there is a robotics community within the field of computer science).
Members of the same community do not need to work together, but they will usually be aware of each other's research and publications, and attend the same conferences. Peer review of results is also almost always done by members of the same community.
