Scorpius (Farscape) - Definition and Overview

Scorpius is a fictional character in the television science fiction series Farscape.

Played by Wayne Pygram, he is the half-Sebacean, half-Scarran scientist and Peacekeeper who pursues John Crichton for the secrets of wormhole technology locked in Crichton's unconscious.

While holding Crichton captive, Scorpius placed a neural clone of his own mind into Crichton's brain to get those secrets. This neural clone could influence Crichton's behaviour and appear in visions only Crichton could see. Crichton nicknamed the clone "Harvey" after the imaginary giant rabbit Jimmy Stewart talked to in the film of the same name.

Physically, his body is shaped more like a Sebacean than a Scaren, except for his grey, lizard-like skin. He is much stronger than a Sebacean, but is rarely physically violent. He prides himself on his patience and his intellect, and is unspeakably cruel in the acquisition of things vital to him. Scorpius's hybrid physiology requires artificial cooling rods placed directly into his brain to prevent his Scarren physiology from inflicting Sebacean heat delerium.
