Sector 001 - Definition and Overview

In the fictional universe of Star Trek, Sector 001 refers to the area of space that Earth's Solar System falls in. It also includes the star Wolf 359.

The Solar System, futhermore, is widley reffered to as the "Terran System" in the Star Trek universe, where 'Terran' refers to Earth.

Sector 001 was the location of the Battle of Sector 001, and the Battle of Wolf 359.

Some articles on Star Trek have criticised this arrangement as being too Earth-centric. However it must be remembered that Star Trek focuses on the exploits of Star Fleet - the Earth component of the fictional 'Federation'.
