Semiconductor fuse - Definition and Overview

Very fast semiconductor fuse to protect against over current, often used to protect semiconductors. Because of their fast action, semiconductor fuses do limit the short circuit current significantly.

Semiconductor fuses are available in several different enclosures and at least two different ranges. gR-type: full range protection. Overload and short circuit protection. aR-Type: partial range protection. Short circuit protection only. Faster acting than full range fuses.

Typical Markings: Ultra Rapid™, Silized™, Silcu™, Sitor™, Recticur™, Protistor™
