- sensory functions: all the sensory functions in the body, considered as a single unit
- brain area that responds to stimuli: the sensory components of the brain and nervous system that deal with the receiving and interpreting of external stimuli

The science fiction movie The Matrix describes a world where humans' sensoria are plugged into an artificial reality instead of their natural senses.
Even though the sensorium is our connection to the physical world, it is often the case that reason is a better tool for sensing reality, as would argue Descartes.
