Sensorium - Definition and Overview

1. Sensorium, a medical term:
   (plural sensoria)
   
   1. sensory functions: all the sensory functions in the body, considered as a single unit
   2. brain area that responds to stimuli: the sensory components of the brain and nervous system that deal with the receiving and interpreting of external stimuli

   The science fiction movie The Matrix describes a world where humans' sensoria are plugged into an artificial reality instead of their natural senses.
