About
Serangoon is a New Town situated in the central parts of the city-state of Singapore. It is situated along the North-East Line of Singapore's subway station, the MRT. Serangoon is one of the smaller New Towns. The town centre is known as Serangoon Central, and is the target of much development in the years to come.
Future Plans
The existing Serangoon Town Centre boasts a variety of facilities including retail outlets, HDB Area Office and the recently built Braddell Heights Community Club. Recreational facilities are also readily available at Serangoon Stadium a stone's throw away.
Located at the confluence of two new MRT lines and with a good catchment from the surrounding residential housing estates, Serangoon Central is well-positioned to be transformed into a vibrant Sub-Regional Centre (SRC) of the North East Region. When fully developed, the SRC will be about the size of Ngee Ann City.
Major transport hub in the making
Enjoy the convenience of direct connection between public transport facilities with a new bus interchange, and the Serangoon NEL and CCL interchange stations.
Variety of uses
Expect a variety of new commercial, residential and community uses. These will create an exciting and vibrant area that will contribute towards a renewed and stronger sense of place for Serangoon.
A new White site
See Serangoon SRC come abuzz with an upcoming 2.5 ha White site. It offers developers the flexibility to vary the mix of commercial, residential and recreational uses to suit market demand. It also allows better integration of uses.
Enjoy seamless transfer between different transport modes as the development will be integrated with the new bus interchange and MRT NEL and CCL stations
New civic plaza
Gather and interact with other residents at a new civic plaza - the focus of recreational and community activities at the heart of Serangoon SRC.
Better connectivity all around
- From the transport hub, head directly for the existing Serangoon Town Centre via a car-free, central pedestrian mall. Flanked by shops, it will provide another bustling focal point for residents and shoppers.
- Move comfortably between buildings, public transport facilities and the new civic plaza within the SRC via a comprehensive network of inter-connected covered and open walkways.
- Walk with ease from the SRC to the surrounding residential areas via new underpasses, overhead bridges and pedestrian crossings.
