Shadowhawk - Definition and Overview

Shadowhawk is a comic dark hero, introducion in the Malibu Sun in May of 1992 and his Image Comics debut came in Youngblood comics issue two.

• Jim Valentino created Shadowhawk.

Mini-series

• On Image Comics Shadowhawk stared in three Mini-series.
• So the Mini-series are Issues # 1 to 11

Out of the Shadows (Part 4)

• Shadowhawk is a violent hero, who breaks' the backs of all criminals he founds, which left him on the wrong side of the law.
• The readers of the first mini-series don't know which of five people are Shadowhawk.
  

The Secret Revealed (Part 3)

• Shadowhawk versus Hawk Shadow.
• Hawk Shadow was the Kid-side-kick Squirrel in the Silver Age Shadowhawk issue now a racist who thinks that he should have been the next Shadowhawk.
• In a dramatic un-maskings the readers were shocked to "Revealed" that Shadowhawk was a black man named Paul Johnstone.

Through the Past, Darkly (Part 4)

• Paul Johnstone origins are given for the first time.
• A former, District Attorney, Paul Johnstone refused to backdown to some mobsters so thay injected with the AIDS virus.
• Believing that the justice system had failed both him and the people of New York, he took justice into his own hands as ShadowHawk.

Interlude

• Image Zero: ShadowHawk was featured in a short story in Image Zero called “Prey.”
• Images of ShadowHawk #1-3 had Paul meet Alan and Keith’s character Trencher and his disembodied companion, Phoebe.

Series

ShadowHawk Issues #12 to 17 The Monster Within

• This story arc the Roman numerals were abandoned and numbering continued sequentially (so, II #1 was #5, II #2-6 and so on).
• In Issue #12 found ShadowHawk teamed with Image’s other HIV infected hero, Youngblood’s Chapel. The two nearly found a cure kept secret by the government, but it was denied them both.
• In Issue #13 he met the Wild C.A.T.s, who offered a robot body that he might slide his consciousness into, but that also failed to produce the desired results.
• In Issue #14 to the year 1963 where he encountered the Tomorrow Syndicate, the Fury and Johnny Beyond, none of whom could help.
• ShadowHawk and Supreme starred in “One Adventure Together” in Issue #16.
• In issue #17 he met Spawn for the second time (the first was briefly in issue #2).

Death and Beyond

• ShadowHawk issue #18: Paul Johnstone dies.
• ShadowHawk-Vampirella (two-part story): Paul Johnstone met Vampirella, became lovers and she turned him into a vampire. This had the unexpected effect of curing him of the HIV infection. ("imaginary tale" that took place outside of continuity)

The New Shadowhawk

(Issues: ShadowHawk Special #1, The New Shadowhawk #1-7, ShadowHunt)

• In the wake of the Paul Johnstone dead.
• ShadowHawk is in fact, a Spirit of Justice and the spirit inhabited not one person, but four!
• Four new Shadowhawks' (three human, one robot we first met back in ShadowHawk #13).
• The saga of the robot ShadowHawk continued through five titles all released in the month of April in a story called ShadowHunt.
• In the ended of New Man #4, with the robot being destroyed and debut Eddie Collins as ShadowHawk.
• Having just moved to New York with his recently widowed father, James, an electrician, Eddie was walking down a street when the helmet that literally fell into his hands.

Is a anthology book that stared four Shadowhawks thoughout history.

A Silver Age Shadowhawk

• A parody of the 1960-era Batman Comics Complete with the Shadowcar, Lady ShadowHawkette, Shadowdog and kid sidekick, Squirrel aka Hawk Shadow.

The Return of Shadowhawk

• The Return of ShadowHawk was released December 2004
• Is The story of Eddie Collins as ShadowHawk.
• Donning the helmet, the costume morphed around his body, increasing his strength, his agility and his stamina.
• All the secrets will be revealed.
• The helmet was spirits of all people who at one time the spirit of ShadowHawk inhabited, Eddie Collins meets the spirit of Paul Johnstone who tell Eddie how he begin a ShadowHawk and that Eddie is destiny to start anew.
