Shamshi-Adad I - Definition and Overview

Shamshi- Adad was the first known Assyrian king, since 1813 to 1791 b.c. He was in the same time that Hammurabi.Hammurabi was against him because the "Old Assyrian Empire" was more important than Babylon kingdom. But this first Assyrian Empire wasn´t like a real empire. Assyrian country was inside Mytanni´s land, and only after the indepence, Assyria could make a real empire. I´m speaking about "Assyrian Middle Empire". Shamshi-Adad I, conquested some countries near Assyria like Mari, an important city, leting there one of his sons. Some people says that Shamshi-Adad only wanted remake the Akkadian Empire of Sargon (prox. 2350 b.c.).
