Sherman Oaks is a district of the San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles, California. It is the gateway to "the Valley" and home to the legendary Sherman Oaks Galleria. It was originally subdivided in 1927.

Sherman Oaks is primarily a bedroom community, although many small mom-and-pop businesses line Ventura Boulevard and Sepulveda Boulevard. The suburb is also known somewhat for the Sherman Oaks Castle Park, a large arcade and miniature golf course.

Sherman Oaks has several skyscrapers near the intersection of Sepulveda Boulevard and Ventura Boulevard, the tallest being the City National Bank tower, having around 20 stories.

Van Nuys Boulevard also hosts the world-renowned Grossman Burn Center at Sherman Oaks Hospital.
