Sherwood Park is a suburb of Edmonton, Alberta. Located east of Edmonton in the Specialized Municipality of Strathcona County. Population (2001) 42,003. Based upon its population, Sherwood Park is technically one of Alberta's largest cities, however the community, which is autonomous from Edmonton, has chosen instead to remain a hamlet, making it the largest in Canada and possibly the world. Currently there are over $9.0 billion worth of major projects completed, annouced or under construction.
