The Shrine Auditorium is a landmark large-event venue in Los Angeles, California. It is also the headquarters of the Al Malikah Temple, a division of the Shriners.
It was designed by G. Albert Lansburgh, A.M. Edelman, and John C. Austin, and built in 1906. It was destroyed by a fire (http://www.lafire.com/famous_fires/200111_ShrineAuditorium/011120_ShrineAuditoriumFire_.htm) on January 11, 1920 and subsequently rebuilt.
The Shrine Auditorium holds approximately 6,600 people and has a stage 194 feet wide. The Academy Awards, Grammys, MTV Music Awards, and American Music Awards, among other events, have been held there.
