Siliguri is a town in West Bengal state of northeastern India. It is a transit point for road, rail and air transport between the northeastern states and neighbouring countries Bhutan, Nepal and Bangladesh.
Places nearby which make Siliguri a transit point are the New Jalpaiguri railway station and Bagdogra airport. Siliguri is surrounded by hill stations such of Gangtok, Kalimpong and Darjeeling, and lies close to the Himalayan mountains.
