The Singularity Institute for Artificial Intelligence is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit organization whose mission statement is as follows:
- SIAI was founded for the pursuit of ethically enhanced cognition by creating Friendly AI. We expect the ethical and significant enhancement of cognition will help solve contemporary challenges disease and illness, poverty and hunger more readily than other charitable pursuits.
Personnel include Tyler Emerson, its Executive Director, and Eliezer Yudkowsky, its chief researcher.
