Sir John Fowler (July 15, 1817November 10, 1898) was born in Melksham, Wiltshire, England. He was a railway engineer in Victorian Britain. With Sir Benjamin Baker, he designed the Forth Rail Bridge, a cantilever bridge. He died in Ackworth, Yorkshire, England at the age of 81.
