Skirting Danger is a webcomic by Meredith Gran featuring the wacky/sexy/dramatic/action-filled adventures of part-time superhero and wannabe fashion designer, Courtney Brightland.
While Skirting Danger started out as a Graphic Smash (a division of Modern Tales) comic, it is currently hosted by KeenSpot.

- Courtney Brightland

Our hero, Courtney, is a fashion student with big dreams. She aspires to be a famous designer, but crime-fighting is her second love. She lives in New York City with her roommate, Sidhe, and attends Murray Hill city college. When trouble's afoot, she transforms into her apparently-secret alter-ego, Skirting Danger.
Courtney is naive and absent-minded, with an ironic lack of fashion sense, but also determined and optimistic. She applies continually to the prestigious NYFU, but so far has only faced disappointment. In the meantime, she hones her superhero skills by training with her off-again, off-again beau, Jake.
- Sidhe Hill

Sidhe is Courtney's ill-tempered, frowny-faced roommate. She's plagued with fighting the stereotypes of a modern elf living in America. But those pointy ears ARE pretty funny! Hee hee, look at 'em.
Her passion for studies has resulted in so many frequent desk naps, that Sidhe can no longer sleep on a bed. Despite her irritability and antisocial lifestyle, though, she's always around to reluctantly lend Courtney a hand. For money.

Courtney's best friend, a college drop-out and overly-tough fighter. He possesses the power of super speed, and uses it for the (presumed) purpose of good. His hero name, currently "Justice Second", is ever changing and dynamic, just like his relationship with Courtney. They train together - and sometimes sleep together. Jake is stubborn and lacking in maturity, but otherwise a caring friend.

Courtney's ex-boyfriend who resurfaced for flaming vengeance in a rat suit. Lyle is tragically ignored, but hey - he's just not that interesting.
- Janet Brightland

Janet is Courtney's wealthy and hauntingly attractive mother. She pays little attention to Courtney, but is good at wrestling alligators.
- Amber Brightland

Courtney's baby sister Amber is your average teen. Dark, mysterious, apathetic, and into emo rock.
- Chompy

Chompy is Janet's ridiculously snappy alligator. He likes Sidhe, though. And tasty things.
- Kiwi

A small, content little bird who likes to go on adventures. Kiwi is Courtney's newfound pal, and moved to New York with her.
- Hawk

A seductive thief disguised as a caterer that Courtney met (*ahem*) at a party. He now resides in scenic prison.
- Crow

A security guard hired to protect Janet's estate. Kind of a rookie. He's an old friend of Hawk's. He also gave his number to Sidhe, once.
- Dale

Angsty, perpetually sad Dale goes to NYFU. Courtney became his friend and tried to teach him the ways of being happy.

Leader of a mysterious cult of killers. He recruited Dale and took advantage of his abilities
