The Slovenian Democratic Party (SDS — Slovenian: Slovenska demokratska stranka), previously the Social Democratic Party of Slovenia (Slovenian: Socialdemokratska stranka Slovenije) is a political party in Slovenia. In the outgoing State Chamber of Slovenia it has 14 of 90 seats. It is led by Janez Janša.
At the European election it got 17.7% which yielded 2 seats in the European parliament out of total 7 from Slovenia. It is a member of EPP party group.
General elections in October of 2004 gave the party a six-point plurality over the governing Liberal Democracy of Slovenia (Slovenian: Liberalna Demokracija Slovenije); the SDS is expected to lead a governing coalition of conservative parties.
