Microsoft has described its Smart Personal Object Technology (SPOT) initiative as being "aimed at improving the function of everyday objects through the injection of software"
It´s an initiative to introduce software and hardware that will make everyday devices smarter (smart devices) and more useful for consumers.
Smart wristwatches will be the first SPOT-based application. MSN Direct Watches are made by various watch makers and soon alarm clocks will be using SPOT. A person who buys and wears a MSNDirect watch (has accessorized him/herself with a SPOT watch is referred to by some as "He/She has been SPOTerized".
