Smoke Signals (1998) is an independent film about American Indians directed by Chris Eyre and starring Adam Beach as Victor Joseph, Evan Adams as Thomas Builds-the-Fire, Gary Farmer, Tantoo Cardinal, Irene Bedard. the film was adapted from a short story by Sherman Alexie.
The movie is a comedy/drama (PG-13) about two young men from an Indian reservation in Idaho on a trip to collect the remains of the father of one of them.
It was honored for excellence in "Debut Performance" category for Evan Adams by the 14th Independent Spirit Awards (1989).
