Socionomics is supposed to deal with the science and history of social prediction. It attempts to comprehend and articulate the rationale behind, and the prediction of, rapid and dramatic trend change in human societies.
This lofty title hides an obscure mixture ot esoterism, numerology and astrology, that is sold to naive investors. It confuses, for example, fractals with the famous / infamous elliott waves and gann numbers, Triviality is neither absent from this concept, as can be seen in the quote:
"Mood impels action. An increasingly positive social mood causes people to buy stocks and expand businesses. . . [while] an increasingly negative social mood causes people to sell stocks and contract businesses. . . Actions do not affect mood -- paradoxically, it's the other way around."
Robert Prechter is one of the prominent originators of the term and was an early apologist for the principles that he believed to underly this "new science."
