Sonnets from the Portuguese - Definition and Overview

Sonnets from the Portuguese is a collection of love sonnets, written by Elizabeth Browning. The sonnets are dedicated to her husband Robert Browning.

The collection is called "from the Portuguese" because her husband used to call her "my little Portuguese". The most famous of the sonnets is sonnet 43 - "How do I love thee? Let me count the ways"
