Space weather - Definition and Overview |
Space weather is the speed and density of the particles and solar wind currently being generated by the sun. The term is also used to refer to the effect of the solar wind on the Earth's magnetosphere. Solar wind is the constant stream of plasma that streams away from the sun, and is the major contributing factor for causing geomagnetic storms.
