St Finbar - Definition and Overview

Saint Finbarr, Catholic Bishop of Cork in the 6th century and patron saint for the city and diocese. Buried in Gill Abbey, the site now occupied by the present day Protestant Saint Finbarre's Cathedral.

Catholics and Protestants both recognise him however the latter tend to spell his surname with a letter 'e' on the end.
