Standing on a Beach, released in May of 1986, is a compilation album of The Cure's officially released singles up to that point. The cassette version contains twelve b-sides on the b-side of the tape. The released was accompanied by a video version, called Staring at the Sea. The CD version, also titled "Staring at the Sea", contains the thirteen singles from the album, plus four more songs. Both titles come from the song Killing an Arab.
