Starcross (computer game) - Definition and Overview

Starcross is a 1982 interactive fiction game designed and implemented by Michael Berlyn and published by Infocom. The game puts the player in the role of a black hole miner. The player's quest takes an unexpected turn as they are destined to rendezvous with a gargantuan alien spaceship from the outer fringes of the galaxy.

Like most Infocom titles, it was developed for many systems. It was released for DOS, as a PC Booter, Apple II, Atari ST and Commodore 64.
