Steve Oedekerk (born November 27, 1961) is a movie director, producer, writer, actor and stand-up comedian.
He was born in Los Angeles, California. He collaborated with friend Jim Carrey for the movie Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, and directed and wrote its sequel Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls. Among other movies written by him are The Nutty Professor (1996 remake), Patch Adams and Bruce Almighty.
He has also acted in films Kung Pow: Enter the Fist and High Strung.
His company is O Entertainment.
Oedekerk created the thumbmation technology of animation where thumbs are used to make the heads of the characters.
