Strathaven is a small town set in the heart of Lanarkshire at the point at which main routes from Glasgow, Edinburgh and Ayr come together. It is an old market town which grew up in the midst of rolling green countryside and still retains the feel of a village despite the growth of more modern housing satsfying the needs of commuters to Glasgow.
