Strobe Talbott (b. 1946) is a U.S. diplomat and political scientist. He was the deputy secretary of state from 1993 until 2000. He has also been a friend of Bill Clinton since their days at the University of Oxford. He is currently the president of the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C.
