Sudden Fear is a 1952 film noir which tells the story of an actor who attempts to seduce a female film director in order to prove to her that he can play a romantic lead. It stars Joan Crawford, Jack Palance, Gloria Grahame, Bruce Bennett, Virginia Huston and Mike Connors.

The movie was adapted by Lenore J. Coffee and Robert Smith from the novel by Edna Sherry. It was directed by David Miller.

It was nominated for Academy Awards for Best Actor in a Supporting Role (Jack Palance), Best Actress in a Leading Role (Joan Crawford), Best Cinematography, Black-and-White and Best Costume Design, Black-and-White.
