- Suwa is a beer brewed by the Christian population of Eritrea, and can also be found in parts of Ethiopia. It is brewed with a mixture of roasted grains and flavored with a type of buckthorn leaf called Gesho. It is brewed almost entirely by women, and is often made for celebrations.
Suwa (諏訪市; -shi) is a city located in Nagano, Japan.
As of 2003, the city has an estimated population of 53,600 and the density of 491.47 persons per km². The total area is 109.06 km².
The city was founded on August 10, 1941.
Every seven years (in the year of the Lion and the Monkey) onbashira a shintoistic ritual is held, where some men from the city ride down a hill on a big trunk.
