Sveasoft Sveasoft

Sveasoft - Definition

Sveasoft is a company that develops alternative firmware for consumer grade Wifi routers that adds about three dozen features normally only found in high end professional routers.

One of the most popular Sveasoft firmware upgrades is for the Linksys WRT54G and GS. With the new firmware they become a Quality of Service bandwidth manager, a wireless repeater, a wireless client mode device, an SPI firewall, A VPN server, 900% boost in the WIFI range, and much more.

Since mid-2004, the company has come under fire for alleged violations of the GPL. Threads on both Slashdot (http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=04/07/21/2255239&tid=193&tid=1) and DSL Report forums (http://www.dslreports.com/forum/remark,10804029~mode=flat) highlight business practices that are determined to be questionable at best, including tagging of binary downloads and fierce customer harassment.
