Swedish hip hop - Definition and Overview

Swedish hip hop is a subgenre of hip hop.

Swedish hip hop has its roots in Stockholm and Malmö in the middle 1980s. Swedish rap crews and artists usually rap in Swedish, English, or a mix of both.

The only hip-hop magazine in Sweden was, "Gidappa". Not Excisting since early 2004. The break-thou for swedish hip-hop was 1998-1999 with Petter and later on Ken, Blues. But the first big hip-hop act in Sweden was Just D (hip-hop mixed with pop). Latin Kings was also on of the first acts on the scene. Still going strong.
