Tabi Tabi

Tabi - Definition and Overview

Tabi (足袋) are ankle high, divided-toe socks. They are usually worn in conjunction with zori or geta since the sandal usually requires the split-toe. These are worn by both men and women. Tabi are usually white, but men sometimes wear black tabi. There are also patterned and coloured tabi for women, but they are rarely worn.

There is also a stronger boot version of the tabi that is worn by construction workers and ninja due to its ability to grip the floor better.
