Ted Chiang - Definition

Ted Chiang (born 1967) is an American science fiction writer. He was born in Port Jefferson, NY and graduated from Brown University. He has won Nebulas for his short stories "Story of Your Life" (1999) and "Tower of Babylon" (1990), and both a Nebula and a Hugo for his novellette "Hell Is the Absence of God" in 2001. He turned down a Hugo nomination for "Liking What You See: A Documentary." His story "Seventy-Two Letters" received the Sidewise Award for Alternate History.
