Ted White (born 1938) was a science fiction fan who worked as an assistant editor for The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction in the 1968s. In 1969, he became the editor of Amazing Stories and Fantastic, a position he held until 1978 despite his apparent contempt for his publisher's business practices. He then edited Heavy Metal in 1979 and 1980.

White published his first story in 1963, a collaboration with Marion Zimmer Bradley entitled "Phoenix." He later expanded it into a novel which became the start of a series. His first novel was published in 1964, Invasion from 2500 in collaboration with Terry Carr.

In 1968, White won the Hugo Award for Best Fan Writer. Despite all his professional credits, White maintains that his achievements in fandom mean more to him than anything else he has done.
