Teddy Ruxpin is a toy from the 1980's produced by Worlds of Wonder. It was an animatronic teddy bear that moved its lips as it read stories - an audio tape was placed in a deck built into the unit's back. Although Teddy Ruxpin was widely popular, Worlds of Wonder went bankrupt.
They also produced a friend for Teddy named Grubby whom he could synch up with to have conversations. Teddy was also the star of his own cartoon.
He was the predecessor of the Furby.
