Tekakwitha (otherwise known as Lily of the Mohawks, Katherine Tekakwitha, or Kateri Tekakwitha) (1656 - 1680) was a Mohawk religious leader.

She shows the complicated nature of blending French Roman Catholicism and Iroquois religions.

Fictional treatments

Tekakwitha figures prominently in the novel Beautiful Losers by Leonard Cohen and Fathers and Crows by William Vollmann.
