 Thames A.F.C. - Definition 

Thames A.F.C. were a football club who briefly played in the Football League in the 1930s.

They were formed in 1928 and played two seasons in the Southern League before being elected to the Football League in 1930 in place of Merthyr Town. They finished 20th of 22 clubs in 1930-31, and after coming bottom of the League the following year they were replaced by Aldershot.

Thames played at the West Ham greyhound and speedway stadium (unconnected with the club of the same name). Despite its capacity of over 50,000, the club holds the record for the lowest attendance for a Football League match, pulling in just 469 fans to watch Luton Town on December 6 1930.
