The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet - Definition

The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet was an American radio and television series. It was, for many years, the longest-running situation comedy on American television, having aired on ABC from 1952 to 1966 after a radio run from 1944 to 1952. The series starred former Big Band leader Ozzie Nelson and his wife, Harriet. Also featured in the show were their two sons, David and Ricky.

The comedy dealt with family and parenting dilemmas in the earlier years. As the two boys grew up, many of the stories dealt with their love lives and their aspirations. Ricky Nelson became a teen idol after performing a song on the series; later, both boys married and their wives joined the cast.
