The Batman (television) - Definition and Overview

The Batman is an animated television series which first aired in 2004, based on the DC Comics superhero of the same name. The series has no connection to the animated DC Universe continuity established by the earlier Batman: The Animated Series.

In The Batman, Bruce Wayne is in his late twenties and in his third year as the Batman, protector of Gotham City.

In this time living in Gotham, a metropolis where shadows run long and deep, beneath elevated train tracks, this younger Batman will confront each of his familiar foes for the first time and without Commissioner Gordon, but there is Chief Rojas.

This time around, Batman has his own operating system - a Teslavian phenomenon he has dubbed "the Batwave" - to power his headquarters, gadgets and vehicles.
