The Cell is a 2000 movie written by Mark Protosevich and directed by Tarsem Singh. It stars Jennifer Lopez, Colton James, Dylan Baker, Marianne Jean-Baptiste, Catherine Sutherland, Vincent D'Onofrio and Vince Vaughn.

Psychotherapist Catherine Deane (Lopez) is an expert in a new treatment for mental patients, in which she literally enters into their dreams. She is pressured into trying out her technique on serial killer Carl Rudolph Stargher (D'Onofrio) in order to try to find one of his missing victims before she dies.

The dream sequences are a cacophony of psychedelic imagery.

The movie was nominated for the Academy Award for Makeup.
