The Daily Record is a tabloid newspaper in Scotland. It is the best-selling daily paper in Scotland, and is based in Glasgow. It was founded in 1842.

While it immensely popular among it's working class readership, it is seen by many to be no more than an outlet for the Scottish Labour Party, to whom it is extremely faithful.

Following many editorial changes throughout the 1980's and the 90's the newspaper took on a campaigning stance highlighting such modern menaces as knife culture and 'devil dogs' as such the serious journalism that the paper was known for has taken a rather right-wing skew and fallen into the popularist trap of pandering to a public keen to read of moral panic.
