The Document of Metal Gear Solid 2 - Definition

The Document of Metal Gear Solid 2 is an interactive "making of" documentary for the video game Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. It was developed and published by Konami for the PlayStation 2 and first released in September 2002 in Japan.

The Document contains concept plans, artwork, video footage and trailers of Metal Gear Solid 2 that illustrate how it was made from start to completion. It also includes interactive 3D models of all the characters and mechanical devices involved in the game, all of the interactive 3D cutscenes and the storyboards that were used to plan them out, the final script, all of the in-game music, and five playable VR missions that preview those featured in Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance.The disc is considered a major step towards video games being an accepted artform, due to its expansive content which allows the game to be truly studied and appreciated, especially in an academic context.

The disk was bundled with the European PlayStation 2 release of Metal Gear Solid 2: Substance.
