The Generation Game was a British game show produced by the BBC in which teams of two (usually people from the same family, but a different generation) compete to win prizes. Loosely based on the Dutch format Een van de Aacht, it was first broadcast in 1971 under the title Bruce Forsyth and the Generation Game and ran from 1971-1981 and 1990-2002. The show has been hosted by Bruce Forsyth, Larry Grayson and Jim Davidson.

The competition tasks usually involved first seeing a skilled professional (such as a dancer or a potter) construct something or do a performance. The contestants would then attempt to do the same thing, and a score would be given by the professional afterwards.

The winning contestants at the end of the show had the chance of gaining prizes when one of them is asked to remember them as they pass by on a conveyor belt. A cuddly toy was one of the trademark prizes.

The show also introduced a number of catchphrases into British culture, most notably Bruce Forsyth's "Ohh! Didn't they do well?".
