The Glass Teat: Essays of Opinion on Television is a 1970 compilation of essays written by Harlan Ellison for the Los Angeles Free Press on the current state of television. Although difficult to find, the book became highly-regarded by television insiders and schools with media studies programs, where it was picked to be used as a textbook in some classes.
Although the book is badly dated by his commentary on all of the now-forgotten controveries and fads of the day, modern critics have noted that his criticisms have continued to remain relevant throughout the years.
