The Goonies: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack - Definition and Overview

The Goonies: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack was the soundtrack album released in conjunction with the 1985 film The Goonies. The album was extremely popular due mostly in part to the inclusion of the hit song "The Goonies 'R' Good Enough" by singer Cyndi Lauper, who had a cameo in the film (as herself, singing the song on TV). The album was released in LP and cassette format internationally, but only made available on compact disc in Japan. The CD is considered highly collectable.

Another single, "Eight Arms to Hold You", was pressed on vinyl with dance remixes as it was anticipated to be a hit. Unfortunately the scene featuring the song (involving an octopus), was cut from the film, and the single sold poorly.
