The Lords of the New Church are a Gothic rock band originally formed in the early 1980s. The band featured a line-up of Stiv Bators (vocals), Brian James (formerly of The Damned — guitar), Dave Tregunna (formerly of Sham 69 — bass) and Nicky Turner (drums).

On May 2 1989, Bators sacked the entire band live on stage at the London Astoria. Following Bators' death in 1990, the band has reformed with a new vocalist and still performs occasionally.
